Security Update Reminder: Website Will Not Be Available On Outdated Browsers

HFBLA.com will be disabling support for TLSv1.0 (TLS version 1.0) and TLSv1.1 (TLS version 1.1) effective August 21st, 2020. Once the work is completed the default protocol used will be TLS 1.2 (TLS version 1.2). Here are some helpful things to know:

What is TLS?

TLS is short for ‘Transport Layer Security. TLS is a method of encrypting the connection between two parties (i.e. your computer/device and a website) that communicate over the Internet to keep your data secure. TLS is the updated version of SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and more secure. The term SSL and TLS are typically used interchangeably.

How will this impact our website?

You will most likely not notice any changes to hfbla.com unless you use a very old browser. You can check to see if your browser is supported here.

Our recommendation to avoid any hiccups:

If you are using an outdated browser or a browser that does not support TLS 1.2, hfbla.com will not work. Download the latest version of your preferred browser below.

IE: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17621/internet-explorer-downloads
Edge: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/microsoft-edge
FireFox: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/
Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/
Safari: http://www.apple.com/safari/

We understand that system upgrades can be complicated but keeping our site secure is a priority for us. We appreciate your support and patience as we disable old, insecure versions of TLS.
